Best Haunted Houses in Columbus

Columbus is home to some of the best haunted houses and attractions in Ohio. From a 45-minute walk through a haunted forest to the chilling treatments of Dr. Collins in the “Northland Asylum,” these attractions are the best around Columbus and will be sure to leave you terrified like never before. 1.) The Haunted Hoochie – Voted the top most outrageous haunted house in 2011, the Haunted Hoochie is possibly one of the scariest attractions in all of Ohio. New to this years show is a live demonic experience as well as tons of other frightening and in your face horror scares. The Haunted Hoochie will open on Thursday September 25th, 2014. The Scareatorium – One of Ohio’s largest attractions, The Scareatorium, is comprised of a 40,000 square foot venue housing two attractions. “The Northland Asylum” and “Rip’s 3D Funhouse” use a combination of special effects to give their guests the scare of their life. From highly detailed sets and the latest props to acting techniques and elaborate characters, determining this from reality will not be easy. 3.) The Creep – This haunted house festival is more than just a haunted house; it is a complete Halloween experience like you have never witnessed before. Only 25 minutes from downtown, The Creep is Ohio’s newest and most innovative haunted attraction. It is comprised of three unique and terrifying haunted houses including The Residence, Madhouse, and FR3AK’D. Each has their own spin on horror with high tech special effects, insane environments, and trained actors. The Creep will open its doors on Friday, September 27th, 2014 from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight. 4.) Walking Dead Mansion – Back for its fifth year, The Walking Dead Mansion housed over 1,000 people last year in one of Columbus’s scariest haunted houses. 2014 promises to be even more terrifying. The scariest part of this attraction is the history behind it. 5.) Pataskala Haunted Forest – The Pataskala Haunted Forest is the longest running haunted attraction in Central Ohio. When the Lion’s Club, back in the 1980’s, decided to turn this into a haunted forest, they had no idea about the history that had taken place before hand. Some really strange things started to happen after the construction phase took place.
