Brian Schottenstein

Brian Schottenstein

President

Brian Schottenstein graduated from the University of Miami, FL in 2009 with a BBA in Entrepreneurship. Brian is the President of Schottenstein Real Estate Group. Brian has been responsible for developing over $1 billion in multifamily and mixed use developments. He was recently named one of the Smart 50 executives by Smart Business Magazine and is currently a columnist for that magazine. Brian was also recently selected as a Future 50 leader by Columbus CEO magazine and 18 Difference Maker by Columbus Jewish News. Brian Schottenstein was recognized as one of Columbus Business First’s “40 Under 40.” Columbus Business First named Brian as part of the Power 100 in 2021-2023. He is on the board of several organizations including Co Founder of The Foundation, the Former President of the Columbus Apartment Association, Vice President of Lifetown where he recently received the Lifetown Legend honor and Treasurer of the Ohio State University Hillel. Brian was an Ohio Electoral College Member, Judge of Miss Ohio USA ‘12 and ‘17 as well as Miss Michigan USA in 2014 and a scorer for the 2013 Presidents Cup.

Managing Partner

Corey Schottenstein is an innovator and a leader in today’s young business world. As Managing Partner of Schottenstein Real Estate Group, Corey works to expand the company’s real estate interests nationwide. Most recently, Corey developed LAGO-A­-LAGO, a magnificent 17,000 square foot custom home he developed on speculation in Palm Beach, Florida’s iconic Estate Section, which he ultimately sold for $50,000,000. Corey provides the underlying creative vision for each individual project and the company as a whole. Additionally, Mr. Schottenstein actively participates in all aspects of the company’s development and decisions—large and small—from new deal & product evaluation, analysis and pre­development planning to construction, design, branding, marketing, operations, sales and leasing. Corey is also directly responsible for overseeing the clubhouses and amenities maintain the highest standard of luxury, service and quality. In addition to his real estate interests, Mr. Schottenstein is also a published financial author, with articles featured in Yahoo Finance and CBS MarketWatch. Corey received his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University­-Bloomington.

Chief Financial Officer & Senior V.P.

George has over 40 years of experience with both public and private organizations, including Schottenstein Real Estate Group, Glimcher Realty Trust (NYSE: GRT), Ernst & Young, LLP and Premier Properties USA, Inc. He is an Ohio State University graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, a licenced CPA and a member of the OSCPA and AICPA. Since joining Schottenstein Real Estate Group, George has been responsible for securing in excess of $900 million in construction and permanent financing for over 25 new developments for the company. George has served on several civic boards in the community.

Deborah L. Wilson
Deborah L. Wilson

Senior V.P. of Rental Operations

Deborah is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University where she earned a B.A. in Public Relations. She has over 30 years of experience in residential property management and customer service. She began her career in management with McDonald’s Corporation and then transitioned into property management. She gained experience with RJ Solove and Associates, M/I Real Estate Company, Associated Estates Realty Corporation and has been with Schottenstein Real Estate Group since 2007.

During her 17 years with SREG, she has overseen the opening and lease up of 15 brand new communities and has managed a portfolio of over 5000 units in Ohio, Kentucky and Florida. Deborah holds a real estate license in the State of Ohio and is an active member of the Columbus Apartment Association and currently serves on the Membership Committee.

Steve Cuckler

Vice President of Legal and Development

As the Vice President of Legal and Development, Steve brings over two decades of legal, government, military, and political experience to the comprehensive array of services he provides to corporate, public, and non-public clients at the federal, state, and local levels. Steve worked in the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives. He also served as city councilman and vice-mayor of the city of Delaware. In addition, he served as chairman of the Delaware County Republican Party and is a current member of the Delaware County Board of Elections.

An Army Veteran, Steve currently serves as Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. Steve has an active TS-SCI clearance and has high-level contacts with the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, various federal intelligence, defense, and security agencies as well as key contacts within Ohio with state executive agencies, legislature, and throughout Ohio at the local levels.

Steve’s experience and the relationships he has built enable him to effectively assist clients with their policy, procurement, contracting, rulemaking, economic development, and legislative decisions. Steve received his law degree from Capital University Law School and his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. He is a member of the Columbus Business First “Forty under 40” class of 2013, honored for his outstanding career achievements and community service. He previously was a partner at the law firms of Rinehart, Rishel & Cuckler, Ltd., and Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister, LLP. He has been recognized by Columbus CEO magazine and Best Lawyers since 2019 for his knowledge of Government Relations and Land Use and Zoning Law, and was recognized as Lawyer of the Year in 2023.

Patrick F. Hyer

Senior V.P. of Construction

Patrick is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in Construction Systems Management. With 20+ years in the construction industry, his career has given him an opportunity to work in various market sectors throughout the country. While working with Continental Real-Estate for 6+ years, Patrick was involved with Mixed Use Development Projects in Portland, OR, Houston, TX and Brentwood CA, where he held the positions of Owners Rep/Tenant Coordinator and Project Manager. Moving back to Ohio in 2008, Patrick worked with Grae-Con Construction for 9 years and most recently he worked for Elford Inc. as a Sr. Project Manager leading the Target Construction Team. Patrick appreciates his work experiences and professional relationships that have influenced who he is today. Patrick lives in Washington C.H. with his wife Kristi and sons Wesley and James.

Corey Lamb

V.P. Controller

Corey graduated from The Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in 2010, with a B.S. in Business Administration, double majoring in Accounting and Finance. While pursuing his degree he was an accounting intern at The Ohio High School Athletic Association and interned within the audit practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP (D&T). Upon graduation, he began his career in public accounting with D&T in Columbus, Ohio and for four years, served on engagements for many clients within a wide range of industries and geographic distribution before transitioning to the private sector at SREG.

Brad Holland
Brad Holland

Vice President, Engineering and Development

Brad has over 20 years of experience in the site development industry as a project manager with EMH&T. Brad’s experience crosses multiple jurisdictional lines throughout central Ohio where he has formed strong relationships with leaders in the site development industry. His breadth of design knowledge includes the development of single-family housing, multi-family housing, commercial, and utility and roadway extensions.

Steven Flowers

Director of Construction

Steven is a highly skilled professional with a diverse background in construction and project management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Production and Operations Management from The Ohio State University.

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Steven decided to take a leap of faith and establish his own construction and remodeling company. Over the course of 14 successful years, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise, delivering high-quality projects and earning a reputation for his professionalism and attention to detail.

Prior to joining the Schottenstein Real Estate Group (SREG), Steven served as a lead superintendent for Continental Building Company. During his time there, he supervised the construction of multi-family housing, student housing, and senior living projects. His strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and dedication to quality made him an invaluable asset to the company.

In 2022, Steven joined SREG as a field superintendent, where he excelled in overseeing on-site construction activities and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. Recognizing his talent and potential, the company offered him the opportunity to transition to construction operations in the Spring of 2023.

Cardale Jones
Cardale Jones

Community Outreach Director

Cardale Jones led the Buckeyes to the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship during the 2014-2015 season. His performances against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game, Alabama in the college football semifinals, and Oregon in the National Championship are some of the most iconic wins in Ohio State’s coveted history. Cardale played several seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers. He graduated from Ohio State in 2017. Cardale is a founding partner of The Foundation and looks forward to connecting student-athletes with local charities.

Cammi Rose
Cammi Rose

Executive Administrative Manager

Cammi graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and has over 20 years of Executive Administration experience. Cammi has worked as an EA in several industries, including beer distribution, healthcare, and construction. She joined Schottenstein Real Estate Group in early 2023 as the Executive Administrative Manager. Cammi lives in Hilliard with her husband Josh, and their two sons, William and Dylan.

Rae Kirkbride
Rae Kirkbride

Senior AP/AR/IT Coordinator

Rae graduated from Ohio Dominican University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Rae began her career as a manager of a secretarial firm, where she remained for 18 years, before joining the business and promotions departments of Ohio Magazine. She joined Schottenstein Real Estate Group in 2002 and has since served in multiple areas in the accounting/finance department of the company; additionally, Rae serves as the company’s IT Administrator. In her spare time, Rae coordinates a volunteer-based ministry for the homeless.

Carol Pegg
Carol Pegg

Senior Property Accountant

Carol graduated from the Ohio State University with a B.A. in History in 2008. Carol began her career in the medical billing field for 6 years and then joined the accounts payable department at zulily for the next 3 years where she gained the tools to improve her skills in finance / accounts payable. She joined Schottenstein Real Estate Group in 2018 as a part of the accounting / finance department.

James M. White
James M. White

Accounting Manager

James graduated from Shawnee State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Business Administration and with an associate degree in Information Technology. Upon Graduation, he began his career in the private accounting sector working for the Performance Automotive Network in Columbus, Ohio before joining the SREG team in late 2022. While at Performance he implemented new processes that improved accounting accuracy across two departments. James is also heavily involved in his community, The Hilltop, serving on several committees.

Mark McClain
Mark McClain

Maintenance Director

Mark was born and raised in London, Ohio and has over 23 years of experience in all levels of maintenance in multifamily housing. Mark joined Schottenstein Real Estate in 2007 and since becoming Maintenance Director in 2021 is responsible for overseeing maintenance services and the maintenance teams at our premier apartment communities. Prior to working for Schottenstein Real Estate Group, Mark worked at Associated Estates Realty Corporation as a maintenance supervisor for two of their locations in the northern Columbus area. In his free time, Mark enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. Mark also claims to have several PhD’s in apartment maintenance and customer service but if there’s a degree on his wall we haven’t seen it.
