Most Anticipated Movies for the Holiday Season
As always, it seems like the Hollywood studios have planned to save the best movies for last this year. Whether you’re a movie buff like we are, or you’re just looking for something to do that allows you to stay inside and out of the cold weather, here’s a list of some of the most anticipated movies that are coming out during the holiday season this December:
- The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (December 25): A day-dreamer escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance, and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker are threatened, he takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that he turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.
- Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (December 20): With the 70s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy, returns to take New York’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
- Inside Llewyn Davis (December 20): A week in the life of a young singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961.
- American Hustle (December 18): A con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner Sydney Prosser is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.
- Out of the Furnace (December 6): When Rodney Baze mysteriously disappears and law enforcement fails to follow through, his older brother, Russell, takes matters into his own hands to find justice.
- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (December 13): The dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the Misty Mountains, and Bilbo has gained the One Ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back from the Dragon, Smaug.
There are so many great movies coming out this month, we’re already trying to figure out how we’re going to carve out time in our calendars to see all of them. All we know is that a few double features may be in order!
