If you have ever been to campus during an Ohio State Buckeye’s football game, you would definitely not forget it. A sea of scarlet and gray including all types of fans from students to alumni and adults to children, flood the streets, bars and restaurants to cheer on their hometown favorites. Where to Stay – Any place that has OSU at the end is an obvious choice. However, there are many hotels around that do not have OSU in their name. Some close hotels include: The Blackwell Inn, The Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express & Suites – OSU, Hyatt Place – OSU, SpringHill Suites – OSU and The Varsity Inns. All of these hotels are within minutes of The Ohio State campus.
Tailgating with No Vehicle – The good thing about Ohio State Football games is that you do not need a car to participate in tailgating festivities. In the space between Ohio Stadium and St. John arena, you will find tons of vendors offering food, entertainment, and essentially get you excited about the Buckeye’s. Whether you are looking for the bar scene or the parking lot scene, both options are available. Some great tailgating spots include the parking lots west of 315, the Little Bar, Eddie George’s Bar and Grill and the Varsity Club. Regardless of what you want to do for tailgating, there is something for everyone.
Enjoying the Game Without Tickets – If you are at a tailgating event and you see people start to leave to head to the game, don’t worry, there are still tons of fans that do not have tickets who want to watch the game. There are tons of bars and restaurants on campus that have big screens and multiple televisions for easy watching. Plus you will be surrounded by those who also bleed scarlet and gray. Some good places to watch the game are those who hold tailgating events like the ones mentioned above. Some alternatives are Roosters, Champps, Grandview Café, Out-R-Inn, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chumley’s and Midway. Regardless of your destination, if you pick one of these you will be sure to have a great experience cheering on the Bucks.
